Infantino Products and Carriers We Love

Infantino carriers and toys for babies. Story published on Metro Mom by Meghann Hernandez

Looking back to my early 20s, when I had my first baby, I carried the responsibilities of parenting single-handedly—quite literally. I would navigate through different paths and detours, with a little one in tow, carrying her on one arm, while I took other life matters with my free hand.

I was being mommy-practical, and I tried to be smart with my choices when it comes to buying care essentials. A baby carrier didn’t really appeal to me at that time, and there were only a few kinds available in the market. I thought it was just an added expense. I used to tell myself, “What good were my arms if not for some sort of toning exercise or weight training in the form of baby carrying?”

Little did I know that a baby carrier can actually save me time and energy in managing multiple tasks. Its convenience only became evident and real to me as years went by, when I ran into new parents who fashioned baby wearing like a pro.

Fast forward to baby number 2, I’ve turned into an avid user of the baby carrier, whether we’re just on foot around the metro or travelling to new places.  With two free hands, I can pick a number of tasks and achieve more with the time I have around the baby. It also made it easier for us to take numerous train and plane rides.

Our baby feeling all comfy in Infantino’s Carry On multi-pocket carrier.

Finding the right kind carrier for our lifestyle was not as easy as I thought it would be. Sure, I appreciated convenience of having more options around, but it also posed a challenge of discerning which type is best suited for my family—with baby’s comfort and security as our main consideration.

I discovered Infantino‘s line of baby carriers in an Expo Mom event by Mommy Mundo. My youngest was already about 9 months old when we brought her with us for a “test ride” of different carrier styles and brands. We never heard of Infantino until we passed by their stall at the fair. We were greeted by Kris Lee, who owned the company distributing Infantino in the Philippines.

As he led us through the process of understanding the benefits of baby wearing and choosing the style that’s best for us, we also got into some parent talk starting with his entrepreneurial journey that was born out of his own experience as a new dad. Kris and his wife, Joan, discovered Infantino while they were on the lookout for a carrier for their baby. Infantino is actually the number one carrier brand in the USA, and it also has a line of baby products and toys designed to support a child’s overall development through different stages.

Infantino offers a range of products that are ideal for any Filipino family. All their carriers are easy on the pocket, with prices ranging from Php1,799 to no more than PHP6,000. Their carrier line is a practical travel and safety must-have that promotes happy and socially inclusive parenting. We love its comfortable structure and durable support, breathable, lightweight and easy to clean material, as well as versatile and ergonomic design that’s good for long-term use.

We’re the kind of parents who never leave home without a spare pack of treats or little knick-knacks to keep the baby company on long travels. So, we chose the Carry On multi-pocket carrier which features six pockets for those little extras we prefer to keep within arm’s reach. This type of carrier has an adjustable seat that cinches small for a comfortable snuggle fit for newborns, and can also be expanded to support older babies and toddlers. Its convertible design gives you 4 ways to carry your baby—facing-in either on narrow or wide seat, facing-out, and, lastly, ala back pack.

We also got the Zip, a full-featured stash and dash kind of carrier that can you can conveniently fold as a waist belt, fanny pack, or as a small messenger bag. You can even stow it in your diaper bag when not in use!

Our baby is now 1 year and 8 months, and we still use both carriers on our travels and walks around the metro. They’ve made it easier for us to balance and maneuver different parenting duties and enjoy our family adventures.

We brought the Infantino Zip carrier with us on our travels and my husband has already mastered the art of folding it into a waist belt / messenger bag. Click here to see the Instagram video.

OTHER PRODUCTS FROM INFANTINO

A few months after its introduction into the market as a carrier brand, Infantino had its official launch where they presented their other products for different purposes — from feeding to bathing, playing, skills building and outdoor fun.

Similar to its carrier line, all these feeding essentials and toys support parenting at different stages. They’re certified free of harmful chemicals and materials, and they’re thoughtfully designed to fit every baby and parent need.

As big fans of play and intentional living, Kris and his wife invited over some guest speakers to talk about parenting support, inclusivity, and early child development. Few of the takeaways from this series is the importance of being present and making each moment count, giving respect to different parenting styles, and embracing inclusivity.

Michelle Aventajado talked about Best Buddies Philippines and her advocacy.

Thank you, Kris and Joan, for being part of our parenting journey and for sharing the joys of family by bringing Infantino to the Philippines.
